How To Use The FABLAB

If you're an existing business, a student, a "garage inventor" or a creative soul with a great idea, you can have access to personalized product prototyping. The FAB LAB is open to Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) students, our partner organizations and it is open to the general public through a variety of packaged options.

Typical materials fabrication laboratories may be cost prohibitive for inventors to develop only one prototype. In order to get ideas into a prototype stage faster, we have created a variety of packages depending on your needs.

Proof-of-Concept Entrepreneur ("Do-It-Yourself") Package includes basic materials, five hours of prototyping technical assistance, and product realization planning assistance for about $1000.

Proof-of-Concept Services Package includes standard materials, twelve hours of prototyping technical servcies, and product realization planning analysis for approximately $2000 on a best-efforts basis.

If you are an entrepreneur and do not want to do product fabrication yourself, you may work through the Venture Center. Business consultants will review your business objectives and work with FAB LAB engineers to prototype the product and determine if your product is commercially viable. Costs for this service will be determined based on your specific needs.
